Flash Vehicles On Demand COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Precautions:

Dear Customers,

In connection with the fight against the spread of  the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Government of Sierra Leone has imposed curfew measures throughout the Flash Vehicles On Demand operating area. The imposition of the curfew measures may affect service availability. For up-to-date information on service availability, please consult the Flash Vehicles On Demand app or web-booker. We appreciate your understanding.

In light of the increasing spread of the COVID-19 situation globally, we would like to highlight for you the actions that Flash Vehicles has taken to ensure our customers, staff and communities are kept safe.  

  • We have updated our cleaning protocols to ensure we regularly clean and sanitize vehicles. For the Flash Vehicles On Demand fleet, high-touch areas are sanitized by our cleaning staff at least twice daily with a disinfectant designated to be effective against COVID-19 by the World Health Organization and US Environmental Protection Agency.

  • Our drivers sanitize the passenger areas frequently with sanitary wipes, including between trips.

  • To avoid close contact, we are limiting the number of passengers in each vehicle to a maximum of three: two passengers sitting in the back seat and one further passenger on the bench seat in trunk/boot. For your safety, passengers are not permitted in the front passenger seat.

  • As a precautionary measure to help protect you, your driver will wear a face mask throughout your trip.

  • Drivers will keep windows open slightly to encourage fresh air in the passenger area. 

  • All vehicles with Flash drivers are equipped with hand sanitizers with a minimum 70% alcohol content for use by drivers and passengers.  Drivers have been instructed in hand washing protocols.

  • All drivers are aware of the symptoms of COVID-19. We have implemented a mandatory daily health check process for all drivers and staff - including mandatory daily temperature checks. All staff members are required to immediately go into self-isolation should they have symptoms of COVID-19 and follow a prescribed protocol. We provide financial and other support to our staff, including job protection, in the event they are required to self-isolate.

Actively monitoring local and global developments

We have a team dedicated to monitoring the advice and protocols provided by the Ministry of Health and Sanitation as well as information from reputable global health authorities such as the  Africa Centres for Disease ControlWorld Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We recognize that this is an evolving situation and will adapt and improve our policies and procedures accordingly. 


Training our staff and sharing knowledge with our customers

All Flash drivers and staff have completed training on how to protect themselves and their passengers. This includes not shaking hands, frequent hand washing/sanitizing, not touching one’s face and staying home if feeling unwell. We encourage all customers to also stay abreast of the guidance from public health authorities and by referring to guidance on the WHO website.

Protecting our team and physical locations

All Flash staff will receive instruction on how to protect themselves and others, as well as how to maintain a safe working environment. Hand wash or hand sanitizing stations will be implemented at all Flash locations and additional measures will be employed to ensure a safe working environment. Staff who are feeling unwell will be required to stay at home.
